U.S. Hwy 80 connects to Phenix City & Auburn, AL immediately west of Columbus, and to Macon, GA 100 miles east.
The Region is home to Fort Benning and the Maneuver Center of Excellence, with more than 40,000 military personnel, contractors and civilians working at the installation every day. It also is the home to the corporate headquarters of several notable companies such as Aflac, Carmike Cinemas, Realtree, Synovus and TSYS.
